Kevin brings outstanding experience, having spent the last 10 years leading partnerships at
@SinglePlatform and
@Yotpo.
He was a killer at Yotpo who'd been there since the early days. For a company slated to IPO soon, he had a comfortable situation. So I knew getting him wouldn't be easy.
How did we snag him?
Well, I did have to treat him to a few nice lunches in NYC. Which I was happy to do. But here's how it all happened...
I was chatting with other eCom SaaS operators and got connected with a DTC exec.
We were casually sharing pain points and I told him I was having trouble finding a Head of Partnerships. (With 40% of the average eCom tech providers' revenue coming through partnerships, this was a critical role).
It turns out that exec previously worked with Kevin. He said he had the perfect person for us.
This brings us to the nice lunches. My sales leader spearheaded the whole process. He flew out to NYC to have multiple conversations with Kevin.
And Kevin was very thorough in his evaluation, too. He did reference checks with our customers and other agencies we work with—he interviewed us.
When you're hiring at the top tier of leaders, that's exactly what you want to see.
Kevin has run the gamut of sales: customer success, outbound, ABM, enterprise, partnerships....he's a Swiss army knife.
He's been here less than 90 days and is already making a major impact. I can't wait to see what he accomplishes here.
