Был такой проект, SpinLaunch. Я про них давно ничего интересного не слышал, но они всё ещё работают. Там правда не вывод на орбиту, а разгон до верхних слоёв атмосферы, после чего выводят ракетой. Насколько я понял они столкнулись с рядом конструкционных проблем.

Была уже такая идея, даже - неплохо реализованная, но я про неё не слышал уже очень давно. SpinLaunch назывались

I think the big variable is competition. If Spinlaunch works out it could really eat their lunch... But if the trend continues and theyre basically the only game in town, I think even 43% annual growth is low

I'm genuinely baffled as to how anyone could take this view! Rockets unlock space travel. Space is almost quite literally infinite with infinite potential. There are rocks the size of the moon made entirely of precious metals out there! The people with rockets get to claim that value. Not to mention the infrastructure that supports Earth. I personally pay spacex $120 a month for internet connectivity that is very valuable to me. There are many places on Earth where that is the *only* option for connectivity and many others where its the best. But there's all sorts of reasons you might want to launch satellites into orbit. And for a long time the Russian government was the only game in town, and they were so constrained! Spacex has completely changed the game in that regard. And other people see the value too. Spinlaunch wants to launch even more, even cheaper. China is investing in spaceports all over the world. Maybe someone else can beat spacex! And then they would lose much of their value. But thats a very different reason to discount their value than saying rockets arent valuable. They are very valuable!
