๐จ A FULL RECAP OF THE DELETED TWEETS SITUATION! ๐จ
5 days ago,
@ruffsxevecanon noticed that a Brawl Stars post from the 2022 Biodome season containing the heights of several Brawlers had been deleted for unknown reasons. At first we theorized that this might be related to lore changes, with Supercell potentially going back and removing older media that no longer fits the modern version of the game's lore. We thought that was where the story ended.
Then, a day ago,
@H_dile5 &
@TheBrawlerMain discovered that two more posts had been deleted: the Bo x Charlie wedding post and the artwork celebrating Brawl Stars' 7th anniversary. At that point, we started to believe that Supercell was actually trying to get rid of the Bo x Charlie relationship entirely, a pairing that originated from a community event. It seemed like such a failure that even the developers had decided to erase everything related to it.
However, what happened last night changed everything.
@6upTeapotDragon discovered that this wasn't about Bo x Charlie at all, nor was it about fixing the lore. It was about removing Sprout's current design. Every deleted Brawl Stars social media post had one thing in common: Sprout appeared in it. At that point, it was no longer a coincidence, and people started getting concerned.
Then, a Reddit user (u/Xedipme) discovered that Supercell had previously been sued over the use of an air purifier design that was allegedly used as the basis for Sprout's model. According to the official sources, Supercell lost the case and ended up paying more than โฌ300,000 in fines and related costs.
On top of that, they may now be required to remove the disputed design from the game. The only ways to do that would be either remodeling Sprout or removing the character entirely. That would explain why Sprout is disappearing from Brawl Stars' social media posts. Supercell may not have had much of a choice. They pretty much have been forced to remove any content featuring him.
Supercell hasn't said anything publicly yet, and it's possible that their legal team advised them to stay quiet until a solution is ready to be implemented.
This whole situation is completely random. It's absurd. How did Supercell manage to end up in a situation where they could potentially lose one of the community's most beloved Brawlers? We all know Sprout's design is fantastic and has felt like a natural part of Brawl Stars since day one.
It's a sad day for the community and easily one of the strangest pieces of Brawl Stars news we've ever had to hear.
