🇺🇬 Uganda Launches Lenacapavir: A New Era in HIV Prevention Last week, Uganda, through @MinofHealthUG, officially launched Lenacapavir—a groundbreaking step in strengthening the country’s HIV response. Why this matters: Lenacapavir is a long-acting HIV prevention option that is taken just twice a year. This is a game-changer, especially for people who struggle with taking daily pills. It offers: 1️⃣Convenience and privacy, reducing the burden of daily medication 2️⃣Better protection, especially for people at higher risk of HIV 3️⃣Improved adherence, since fewer doses are easier to manage Etc This innovation brings real hope for reducing new HIV infections and expanding access to effective prevention. ⚠️ The priority now is ensuring that Lenacapavir reaches those who need it most. This means strong community awareness, addressing stigma, training health workers, and making services accessible in both urban and hard-to-reach areas. To everyone out there ; Stay informed.
