The creation of onavg has greatly benefited from open science. We used 1,031 high-quality brains openly available from @OpenNeuroOrg, and we deeply appreciate the participants and researchers who generously shared their data. We also thank @datalad @studyforrest @centeropenneuro.

Amazing use of the @studyforrest dataset!
Fresh preprint out! Enning combines #NLP algorithm and #naturalistic #movie watching. >53,000 time points. Core insight: The default network dominates neural responses to evolving movie stories biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/… @Mila_Quebec @McGillBME @mcgillu @yaledailynews @dartmouth

Somewhat consistent with the narrative fMRI data set, there is the epic Studyforrest fmri dataset that includes simultaneous fmri and eye tracking data while participants watch/listen to the movie of none other than, our favorite cross country runner. studyforrest.org/

We used the amazing @studyforrest dataset and an in-lab Raiders dataset to assess our model. These two datasets were collected with different movies, different participants, and different scanners and scan parameters, allowing us to evaluate model performance in diverse settings.

One of my favs, but has Forrest Gump *really* been used in the scanner already? I found it strange that the StudyForrest group used a german dub without any visual stimuli in >half the population to boot. Admittedly I'm biased in favour of the NNDb from @thelablab tho

What does Forrest Gump have in common with 101 Dalmatians? Well...very little! That's why we used fMRI real-time affective ratings collected during the watching of 101 Dalmatians to validate time-varying ISFC results obtained from @studyforrest data. 2/6

But does the framework generalize? To demonstrate its potential for transparent sharing we adapted it to open data (@studyforrest) and open source software (#fmriprep). Thanks to @ReproNim and @yarikoptic for readily providing it in a container collection!

Initially published 7 years ago, the @studyforrest dataset is the 2nd most active dataset on @OpenNeuroOrg today (check it out on openneuro.org). Thanks y'all for the continued interest. Every day, the time spent on it in the past becomes more meaningful!

We’ve re-processed 3 of the 4 data sets (incl. @CNeuromod and @studyforrest) to standardize included derivatives. We've also changed the decoding task in @CNeuromod to a visual n-back task, which improves the range of cognitive tasks covered in the decoding data

We'll have two panels (to cover both time Rising Sun & Atlantis time slots), one hosted by @pierre_bellec, one by @vborghesani. Our own @juliebo80922597 will be representing #cneuromod amidst all the other amazing datasets: IBC, StudyForrest, MSC, NSD & the Algonauts Project 🎉

In such CI scenarios, or interactive demos, the studyforrest datasets now offer a significantly more robust behavior, because @datalad will transparently switch to an alternative source if any one is found to be (temporarily) unavailable. 7/7
