Former subpostmaster Janet Skinner #C4News "People deserve to go to prison for this. They need to be held to account. They've known all along and all they're done is destroy people's lives" "Paula Vennells is lying, she's just lying. When she gives evidence to the inquiry its probably just going to be another case of: I don't recall, I don't remember" "I didn't have an inquiry, I was sent to prison. I lost my job, received a letter, went to court and was sent to prison. They had no evidence. How much more evidence do they need against Paula Vennells and the Post Office?" #PostOfficeInquiry

1/ It took 1,000 wrongful convictions and one incredibly tenacious subpostmaster to bring to light the precarious state of the justice system. Letby is simply another instance of the same. This time round the scale of the preposterous accusations brought it's own scrutiny.🧵

Exactly. As with the subpostmaster trials exculpatory evidence was excluded. The postmasters were not allowed to bring their accounts to the trials. The charges were FALSE ACCOUNTING. It's like a joke. Except peoples' lives are ruined for the joke.

Talking of Dangerous men Mr Davey, your lack of action regarding the Post Office Scandal led to many suicides. They called you the Chocolate Teapot. You are far more deadly than that... "At least 13 tragic suicides and numerous suicide attempts have been linked to the Post Office Horizon scandal, where victims were falsely accused of theft and accounting shortfalls. Sir Ed Davey served as the Postal Affairs Minister from 2010 to 2012 and has faced severe scrutiny regarding his handling of the crisis. The connection between Ed Davey and the tragedy involves several key details:Initial Response: During his tenure, Davey famously refused an initial meeting with campaigner and former subpostmaster Alan Bates, only agreeing to meet him five months later.Davey's Defense: Davey has maintained that Post Office executives and officials lied to him on an "industrial scale," repeatedly assuring him that the Horizon IT system was robust"

Judging from the 900 subpostmaster wrongful convictions, where no crimes existed and therefore no evidence of crime could exist, I would say that the "usual safeguards" are much less usual than you are hoping. The path to conviction is downhill and the defence has bad brakes.

❤️This photo says more than words ever could. A former Subpostmaster and Jo Hamilton — both wrongly convicted in the Horizon scandal — sharing an emotional embrace at Jo’s book tour. As children we watched the devastating impact this injustice had on parents and our families. Seeing victims together with someone who truly understands that pain is incredibly emotional. ❤️ Two survivors. Two fighters. A reminder of why justice matters. ❤️ @JoHamil73963257 #postofficescandal #HorizonScandal #JusticeForSubpostmasters

Tell you what’s offensive Tim. Your leader and his involvement in the subpostmaster scandal and Reeves voting against a rape gang enquiry. You can make hay about perceived hurty words many of us however, will stay focused upon scandals which have led to outcomes such as deaths
