Neither Nick or I are Scottish, but we are up supporting our neighbours. We are the real heroes here 🤣🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
Damning that the BBC chose only to screen this gfx at 1.25am this morning. It’s nothing to be ashamed of.

Sara is easily one of the best writers I’ve ever met.
Delighted @SluggerOToole has republished my Substack piece, written as both an opinion piece and an explainer for readers outside Northern Ireland. I grew up here during the Troubles, left for London for a few years, and came back post-GFA. ‘Families were burned out of their homes in Belfast this week in openly racist violence. But Sara Morrison, who has lived in Belfast most of her life, argues that what happened on the Newtownards Road is the product of decades of political failure, an unfinished peace process, and communities that were never rebuilt. A vital if uncomfortable read.’ The comments are interesting. sluggerotoole.com/2026/06/13…

I can see how it happened, but the why is very weird. Sterilising children with off label drugs without informed consent. Why would any health professional even consider it?
WellBN clinic did not practise healthcare, they practised gender affirming care. The reckless disregard for children's health and safety is a feature, not a bug, of the gender affirming care model. transgendertrend.com/wellbn-…

“At no point did I make negative comments about gender-critical views.” Apart from when you equated them with Holocaust denial.

When Dr. Shumer was confronted with the harm he’d done, he shut down. There’s a great reckoning to come.

I don’t think he’s on X any more but Richard Moorhead has been given an OBE in the birthday honours list. Richard has done a phenomenal amount of thinking, writing and work on helping victims of the Post Office scandal and his award is very well deserved.

Nick’s gender blog is fabulous - take a look. These are untold stories.
My thanks to @JonniSkinner for sparing the time to tell his story. He's a lovely bloke, but boy has he been through the mill. Another long read, bringing home the horrors of gender-affirming medicalisation. genderblog.net/jonni-skinner…

Nick Wallis highlights a contradiction between NHS Sussex's directive to WellBN GP surgery to immediately cease specialist gender care for children under 18 and update public materials, versus WellBN's initial statement claiming no changes to care, treatment, or support for patients. An NHS Patient Safety Investigation Report found WellBN caused "actual potential harm" to 78 children and young people via puberty blockers and gender medications from 2023-2024, citing poor record-keeping, inadequate assessments, lack of informed consent, and safeguarding failures. After Wallis contacted both parties, WellBN updated its website to note it stopped registering new young patients for gender-affirming care in April 2025 per ICB instructions, while maintaining other services are unaffected; clinicians were referred for professional investigations.

I went to a podcast event in 2023 with three prominent journalists from The Australian and during question time I asked them why their paper had left self ID legislation pass in so many states, including Queensland without rigorous questioning. @chmharvey ordered the microphone be taken off me without even the curtesy of a reason for her unwillingness to engage. I was actually very embarrassed. She looked at me like a pariah. I wrote and complained to our local editor and he rang me and promised to refer me to people I could discuss the issue with. He then ghosted me and has refused to answer any of my emails. I feel quite deeply offended actually that I was treated so poorly when @australian are now making all the same arguments I’ve been making for years.
I went to the recording of “The Front” where @chmharvey was interviewing Hedley Thomas (Australian journo) and David Murray the (crime editor for The Oz) last night. Both men have true crime type podcasts made in The Australians dollar 1/

Journalist Hannah Barnes has written a detailed account of the Brighton GP clinic recently criticized for providing inadequate care to children. Hannah raised concerns back in 2024 in her book, "Time to Think." "One parent, who contacted the NHS and the GMC three years ago after learning their 16-year-old child was being prescribed hormones, told the New Statesman: “The tragedy isn’t that nobody knew. The warnings were known, the prescribing was celebrated, and institutional curiosity went missing precisely when it was needed most.” Another, parent whose attempted legal action against WellBN helped trigger the investigation, said: “There is nothing worse than witnessing someone inflict damage upon your child. What has happened here is profound harm: the stripping away of a child’s health, a normal youth, and their future of a fulfilled adult life." In the financial year 2024-25, WellBN issued prescriptions for masculinising and feminising hormones to close to 1,100 young people under the age of 25. Some as young as 12-14. All those mindlessly supporting conversion therapy bans should read this young man's account of the "gender affirming care' that he received.
