Folks ask me why I used @chia_project to digitally notarize my Lunar project (and chose to send my digitally twinned Chia Miner, ‘Quigley’ Offworld) … there are many reasons but, the biggest and most overt is that its community is filled with ordinary folks pushing technology to DO extraordinary things- constantly building, testing, iterating, collaborating, and innovating. I believe, as a digital medium/currency/technology, Chia is uniquely suited for Offworld economies. I could be wrong but, until something better is invented and adopted, it worked really well for the usecase I was trying to establish… and I had SO much fun learning alongside @monkeyzoo, @bramcohen, @hoffmang and @DracattusDev (and countless others during late night XSpaces & in the backchannels) to figure out what a digital ‘chain of custody’ on @MintGarden_io for space assets could (and should) look like…. Steve, the gentleman below in this post… is a wonderful human. His weekly ‘run-downs’ keeps the community informed & daresay… inspired by all the happenings. He’s become a good friend, an invaluable resource & needed ‘big brain’ to answer pressing What-ifs and I-wonders, and just a lovely part of my pocket family. Please support his handiwork. Once upon a time, my 3 Makerspawn sat in on a talk about the 10,000 year clock at a Bay Area Maker Faire… as middle-schoolers at the time, they were completely smitten & mesmerized by all the things one would need to consider to create such a thing… the conversations that Summer around campfires about that clock were delightful, they really were… The Long Now folks became family in a round about way… I highly recommend ‘Pace Layers’ and supporting their endeavors 🤟🫂 SupportMakers
