Igalia’s Georges Stavracas writes about profiling WebKitGTK (a Linux port of Apple’s WebKit) to see how WebKitGTK is doing after being switched from Cairo to Skia, and how he hooked into WebKitGTK's existing tracing mechanisms to make that much easier

Amazing post by Georges Stavracas on the improvements recently added to the Linux ports of #WebKit, and the integration with sysprof. Worth pointing out that, while this work has been developed over @WebKitGTK , it also benefits #WPE so it's a double win (and just the beginning)!

Depends on your system. I work mostly with safety critical systems and certification reqs push you to use a lot of proprietary software. I used mostly Blackberry's sw that comes their OS, but if you work with Linux there are OSS tools like sysprof and gprof (and Valgrind sometms)
Rewrote & completed some parts of this wiki page about Sysprof, the most amazing software application performance profiling tool for #Linux with @GNOME. This thing is alien technology. wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Sysprof
All of you performance aficionados out there may find @hergertme's latest blog entry fascinating and educational. In his post, Christian explains how to use Sysprof to perform a number of optimization steps in your code. Check it out!
