Spray foamed ductwork? Buried ductwork (below slab) is very challenging to install properly. We like the plastic “Blue Duct” (HDPE) but our second favorite choice is closed cell spray foamed ductwork. The spray foam forms a continuous air, vapor, water and thermal barrier around the ductwork, preventing contact with the earth. This way condensation, groundwater, corrosion, etc. are no longer an issue. Can be installed on various ducting materials like aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel and PCD. Tune into the @thisoldhouse Lexington project to learn more! Ever seen a blower door spin backwards? Watch the motor spin backwards and then when turned on, flip direction. This action imposes a lot of stress on the motor. One tip is to use the fan cover to slow the blades down by blocking airflow before turning the unit on. @te2engineering @retrotec @ThisOldHouse @AskTOH
