Konza Technopolis, serving as a mentor for the Investing in Young Businesses in Africa (IYBA) Seed Green Pitches, played a pivotal role in guiding bold early-stage startups as they presented their ideas to seasoned entrepreneurs and investors, unlocking visibility, networks, and transformative opportunities. From high-energy pitches to meaningful partnerships, the forum celebrated resilience, creativity, and the unstoppable momentum of Africa’s innovation ecosystem. From Miles to Innovation... We enthusiastically kicked off our experience with a run, successfully transitioning our focus from setting personal bests on the road to engaging as our best selves at the TechRun Summit. The event provided a remarkable platform for connection. We were honored to link up with influential leaders like Strathmore University Vice Chancellor Dr. Vincent Ogutu and incredible innovators, including Emily Chepkor of We Run Nairobi. Our main focus during the sessions was on Artificial Intelligence, Digital Transformation & Tech Investments. We spent the day collaborating, thinking deeply, creating solutions, and linking up with others who share the vision to transform the future together. A crucial key takeaway resonates strongly: the essence of true innovation lies in giving value to the community, and understanding how this purpose-driven approach ultimately translates into sustainable growth and resources—it’s always about money, yes, but money following value. Seeing the impact of We Run Nairobi truly inspired me to founding Running Eldoret. I am grateful to be growing this movement, meeting my inspirations, and building a community here in Eldoret. At the TechRun AI, Digital Transformation & Tech Investments Forum, one message rang clear: resilience creates innovators. Leonard Bett, a professional steeplechase athlete turned full-stack developer delivered a deeply inspiring valedictorian speech that captured the heart of what this forum stands for: the meeting point between endurance and innovation. After a stress-fracture injury forced him off the track, Leonard walked into EldoHub seeking digital literacy training and walked out as a sports technologist, building an athlete-training management system and becoming part of an award-winning hackathon team. His journey is a reminder that the discipline that fuels great athletes is the same discipline that builds great innovators. And that challenges, when embraced, can unlock entirely new paths. His words to fellow graduates were powerful: “We came from different backgrounds, but EldoHub made us speak one language; technology. Let’s carry this fire not just to jobs, but to the communities we want to uplift, because we are the solution.” This is the spirit of TechRun, where athletes, innovators, and creators shape the future together. #TechRun2025
