This is quickly devolving into an SGA vs. Luka vs. Jokic convo. So a few quick notes: - Luka also gets doubled a lot. 17.8% of his touches and the 6th-most total doubles faced (exactly one whole double-team more than SGA) - Jokic has the second most total touches in the league and a lower avg. touchtime than anyone in the top 10. Tons of initiating offense, running handoffs, etc. where doubles rarely occur. He's still faced the 13th most total doubles Not everything is "this guy is higher on this list, so that guy must suck!"

the problem is i dont know which fga's were potentially assisted, only whether they were assisted or not. however we do have touch time data, and we can say touch time <2 seconds is a true assist. For instance, lets say a team has 150 assist points and 100 potential assists (assist efg = 75%) Yet they have only 130 points with touch time <2 seconds and 90 fga touch time <2 seconds. ( efg = (72.2%)). At minimum i think a simple adjustment would be to dock everyone on the team 2.8% assist efg. actually depending on who took the shots with touchtime <2 and the assist networks of the passers you could target the adjustment better to individuals from there

Without balancing metrics to monitor throughput, cost and most importantly safety and outcomes, it isn’t very helpful, I think my biggest gripe is how little seems to be actually understood about how Touchtime Utilisation works in practice. But. But but but…
