I’m filled with pride and gratitude for the way Fort Worth came together over the past week to keep our neighbors safe during the severe winter weather.
Thank you to our first responders –
@fortworthpd ,
@FortWorthFire, and our EMS family – for answering the call when it mattered most;
to our 311 Call Center and Emergency Communications teams, who prepared months in advance and handled nearly 10,000 weather-related calls with professionalism and care;
to our Transportation & Public Works team that treated city streets with 3,700 gallons of brine and 1,600 tons of salt and sand to improve driving conditions;
to our Water Department crews, which worked around the clock to address and monitor breaks;
to our city staff and external partners serving individuals experiencing homelessness, getting folks into regular emergency overnight shelters and emergency overflow shelters;
to our incredible partners like
@oncor and
@TrinityMetro whose seamless collaboration made a huge impact;
and to the countless other partners, communities, local businesses, neighbors, and more who rallied together;
Your long hours, quick responses, and unwavering dedication helped keep our residents safe and warm.
Fort Worth is stronger because of you.
