#gojohime #gjhm "Yearning Gaze"
After a hang out with Shoko and Nanami, both Utahime and Gojo took a train back to Kyoto - he had personal matters to take care in Kyoto.
The train back to Kyoto was quieter than usual. Utahime Iori had meant to sit across the aisle, but somehow ended up next to Satoru Gojo.
The train entered a tunnel, and the lights went out. Utahime tensed. โSeriously? I hate this.โ
โYouโre that bothered?โ Gojo asked, his shoulder brushing hers as he shifted.
โI donโt like not seeing anything.โ
He went quiet for a moment. โItโs not that bad.โ
The train jolted. Utahime instinctively reached out, her hand landing against his sleeve as she steadied herself.
โโฆSorry,โ she said, letting go like it meant nothing.
"Itโs fine,โ he replied, softer than usual. She settled back. โI hope the lights come back soon.โ
โDo you?โ
โOf course. Itโs uncomfortable like this.โ
Utahime shifted again, her shoulder pressing lightly into his. She didnโt seem to notice. Gojo did. He could have moved. He didnโt.
โYouโre quiet today,โ she said.โ Am I?โ
โYeah. Itโs strange.โ
โYouโd rather I go back to annoying you?โ - Gojo whispered
โAt least thatโs normal.โ
The lights flickered back on.
Utahime Iori blinked as her eyes adjusted and turned toward Satoru Gojo with a small, relieved smile. โFinally.โ
She paused, her expression shifting into quiet confusion as she met his gaze.
As if he had forgotten to look away before the light returned. The gaze made her feel a bit confused because it shouldn't belong to Gojo or at least she shouldn't receive it from him.
It's a gaze that's too foreign...too intimate for them. It's a gaze meant for...a lover.
