I make like $100 per month in donations on genuinely useful and simple webapps for niche communities. I don't claim it's life changing. But it's $100 more than had I not built anything.

Why are apps, especially webapps, deciding it's ok to lazy load their own UI? So it can fail? X, I'm looking at you. Oh you want to search X? Hope their bottom bar loads. Youtube web app is now the biggest piece of trash. YouTube has gone from usable to board line, and it is ridiculous.

Awesome I work in tech and have built a few in-house apps at my jobs. It’s an entire different beast than webapps, so I feel ya there. It’s never β€œeasy” lol. Thanks for sharing this info with me appreciate it.

I was going to make a snide remark about webapps being famously single user. But I see your point.

Feels like the real problem is writing guis is still incredibly annoying (even for agents?) outside of webapps. What if you asked Claude to convert the webapp to electron?

Eh, in my experience it didnt really work for even basic ML stuff well. Only preferred it over writing code by hand for webapps and stuff.

Meet Cabinet: Your KB AI Team on DiskπŸ—„οΈ for the longest time I’ve been frustrated that LLMs are stateless and scattered. every chat starts from zero. no memory, no team, nothing that persists. So I built Cabinet: your AI team on disk πŸ“ β”œβ”€ πŸ“ .kb/ - CSVs, notes, webapps, everything) β”œβ”€ ⏰ .jobs/ - tasks & routines └─ 🧠 .agents/ dump your data, bring your own AI, and it researches, drafts, and ships while you sleep. no db. no lock-in. just files you own. runCabinet.com
This is really big news. Google introduced the Open Knowledge Format (OKF) - a standardized way to store information in a directory of markdown files. Makes it really easy to make a digital brain that agents can use. These files can serve as a living wiki. You can give agents the ability to query them or edit them. They can interlink. Seems to me this could replace Notion or Obsidian. I can think of so many uses for this. Google's blog post: cloud.google.com/blog/produc… An easier to understand explanation is the SPEC.md file: github.com/GoogleCloudPlatfo… I gave those two links to Antigravity and asked how we could use it for any of the projects we're working on. It came up with so many ideas. I would imagine Claude Fable 5 would whip up some pretty amazing things based on this system. Currently creating an OKF library of our pepper garden. It's going to be a fun weekend.

Dang it. I missed out on having it optimize my webapps. Opus 4.7/8 just makes them look worse.

it's bizarre how easy ppl get roadblocked by IRB feedback that would be so simple to design around with the most basic of webapps i can understand reluctance to use AI with some forms of qual analysis. tho LLMs are prob more reliable with applying coding to label data

Yeah, true. I've got quite a few ideas I'm working through for home. Updating raspicast, imorivjng my picture frame app, home automation hub touch screen, Mycroft local replacement with whisper etc, some webapps I've built and others. I haven't looked at stack exchange or Ubuntu forums... for months.

I'm 100% looking for testers. But not yet or soon for apps, since it focused on dom elements for now. And apps do not have that. Except if you are talking about Webapps
