In the midst of the holiday flurry and cheery questions of: “Are you excited about the holidays?” “Do you have all of your Christmas shopping done?” “What are you doing for Thanksgiving?” There are widows who smile politely while their hearts are breaking. While they are screaming on the inside. It’s not a happy holiday season. It’s a season of dread… Of crushing loneliness… Of feeling unseen and forgotten. Of trying to figure out this weird, new reality. Of desperately wishing the chair next to them wasn’t empty. It shouldn’t be this way, but it is. This holiday season, love on that widow (or any grieving person). Ask about their person. Ask about their heart. Invite them to join you. Listen. Offer a hug. Let them know you see them as they are. And you care. Your time and attention is the most priceless gift you can give. #widow #widowed #widowhood #widowlife #widowsofinstagram #widowshelpingwidows #grief #griefcoach #griefshare #griefsucks #griefquotes #griefsupport #griefjourney #griefandloss #griefrecovery #lifecoaching #lifecoach  #widow #widowlife #widower #widows #widowsupport #widowed #widowshelpingwidows #widowstrong #widowmom #widowedmomIife #widowedandyoung #griefquotes #griefandloss #griefsucks #griefawareness #griefcoach #griefrecovery #griefshare #griefhealing #griefwork

✨ As the holidays approach, here are my top ways to honor your person’s spirit and keep them close through this season of grief. ✨ Swipe through for 8 meaningful ways to honor their memory while navigating the holiday season: 1️⃣ Carry a Keepsake Wear something of theirs—like a watch, ring, or cozy sweater. Having a small reminder close by can bring comfort. 2️⃣ Travel to Their Favorite Place Visit a place they loved. It might be bittersweet, but sharing stories and memories in that spot can feel healing. 3️⃣ Hang Their Stocking Fill their stocking with treats or small items they loved. It's a gentle way to bring them into the celebration, and you can even enjoy some of their favorites, too. 4️⃣ Include Them in Gatherings Set a place at the table, light a candle, or display their photo. Creating a small tribute in your gatherings keeps their presence close. 5️⃣ Take a Break from the Norms Holidays can be overwhelming. Give yourself permission to step back, rest, or even create new, simpler traditions. 6️⃣ Community and Service Give back in their honor. Volunteer, donate, or support a cause they cared about. It’s a way to honor their legacy and feel connected to them. 7️⃣ Enjoy Their Favorites Watch their favorite movie, listen to their go-to music, or make a meal they loved. Celebrating their favorites can feel comforting and grounding. 8️⃣ Start a New Tradition Create something new that brings you peace and joy. New traditions help you move forward with them still in your heart. 💛 Remember: There is no right way to “do” the holidays while grieving. Honor your loved one in ways that feel right for you, and give yourself permission to feel it all. ✨ Share this post if you think someone else might need these gentle ideas for the season. #widow #widowed #widowhood #widowlife #widowsofinstagram #widowshelpingwidows #grief #griefcoach #griefshare #griefsucks #griefquotes #griefsupport #griefjourney #griefandloss #griefrecovery #lifecoaching #lifecoach #widow #widowlife #widower #widows #widowsupport #widowed #widowshelpingwidows #widowstrong #widowmom #widowedmomIife #widowedandyoung #griefquotes #griefandloss

Losing a spouse is ranked as the most stressful life event a person can go through. And if you’re here, you don’t need a ranking to tell you that, do you? It’s not just about losing the person you loved. It’s about losing the life you built together. It’s losing the plans, the routine, even the feeling of knowing who you are in the world. There’s a whole community of people who truly get this journey—people who are also learning to navigate loss and find strength on the other side. Are you a widow thinking about dating again? 😔💔 You might be feeling things like: * Who’s going to want me? * Am I too old? Too overweight? * What if I have to settle or be lonely forever? * Will I ever be ready to put myself out there again? I get it, because I’ve been there. 💯 When I first thought about dating, I was scared. It took months before I put a real picture on my profile (I used a picture of the sky 🌅 at first). I was embarrassed, anxious, and didn’t even know where to start. For so many widows, the idea of dating stirs up feelings of guilt, shame, and confusion. We didn’t want to be here, learning how to date again. We were wives, not girlfriends. But dating after loss doesn’t have to be terrifying. You can be ready for love again, set healthy boundaries, and attract the right kind of person without losing yourself in the process. 💬 If you’re ready to take that next step with support from others who understand exactly what you’re going through, join our Brave Widow Community. We’re here to help you navigate the mind drama, regain your confidence, and open yourself to new possibilities—all on your terms. 💪 You’re not alone in this. ✨ *How Travel Helped Me Heal Through Grief* ✨ After losing my husband, the thought of traveling — especially solo — felt overwhelming and impossible. But something inside me knew that if I could rebuild my confidence, I could also rebuild my life… one step, one trip, at a time. And you know what? Travel turned out to be one of the most **healing** things I could’ve done for myself. 🌍 **Healing Through Adventure** When you’re grieving, stepping outside your routine can help shake off the heaviness. Travel, even just a weekend trip, helped me connect with new places, people, and experiences — all of which gave me little pieces of myself back. 💪 **Regaining Confidence** At first, the idea of traveling alone was overwhelming. But with each trip, I learned to trust myself again. I realized I *could* navigate airports, explore new places, and even have fun on my own. The more I traveled, the more my confidence grew — both in travel and in life. 💛 **Embracing Life Again** I’ve found that when you travel, you allow yourself to dream again. You begin to see that there’s still so much beauty, joy, and wonder in the world. It doesn’t mean grief disappears, but it does mean you start making space for more life. If you’re feeling stuck in your grief, consider taking that first trip — even if it’s just a short drive away. **You’re stronger than you think**, and regaining your confidence will not only make travel possible, but it will also help you embrace the beautiful life still ahead of you. Want to learn how to travel with confidence again? Drop me a comment or DM to learn more. ✈️💛 #BraveWidow #HealingThroughTravel #GriefRecovery #SoloTravel #LifeAfterLoss #widow #widowed #widowhood #widowlife #widowsofinstagram #widowshelpingwidows #grief #griefcoach #griefshare #griefsucks #griefquotes #griefsupport #griefjourney #griefandloss #griefrecovery #lifecoaching #lifecoach  #widow #widowlife #widower #widows #widowsupport #widowed #widowshelpingwidows #widowstrong #widowmom #widowedmomI #widowedandyoung #griefquotes #griefandloss #griefsucks #griefawareness #griefcoach #griefrecovery #griefshare

🎶 I thought I was doing everything right… I went to counseling, read the books, joined support groups… But there I was, at another one of my kid’s choir events, fighting back tears. 💔 My heart twisted in knots. Their dad should be here. They should feel the full support of their family. And once again, I asked myself: What’s wrong with me? Why can’t I just enjoy these moments without breaking down? I felt like I was doing everything to heal, but grief kept reminding me how much power it still held. The guilt, the regret, the weight of the past—it all came rushing back. 😔 It wasn’t until after months of searching that I finally found the path to freedom. A way to embrace healing, gratitude, and life beyond grief. This is for you if… ✨ You want to enjoy life again without constantly being pulled back by grief. ✨ You feel stuck, like no matter what you do, it’s never enough. ✨ You’re tired of feeling knocked down, even after all the effort you’ve put into healing. How did this happen? What just happened? There's this absolute element of just incredible shock. You can't even just comprehend. And you're just sitting there being like, no? I feel like this is is this a movie? At any second is someone going to come and be like, haha, big joke on you. And I remember sitting there at the funeral and being like, no, he's going to wake up any second, right? He has to wake up. This can't actually be happening. It can't be happening. I'm just thinking there this whole time. I remember it's awful, but I used to sit there and be like, Oh my God what if he wakes up? What if this is just all wrong? And now what? He's buried. Like, how does this work? And I remember being like, okay, this is not logical. You're not thinking clearly, but at the same time, there's just like an absolute unacceptance. Like your physical being just cannot accept. Especially in instances where it's so sudden, like there's no warning. You're asking the doctors what happened? And they're like we don't know we don't know what caused it. We don't know why it happened. Every decision used to feel heavy. After Nathan died, everything I thought I knew suddenly felt… different. It really shook my confidence. Life seemed incredibly fragile and uncertain. I went overboard with installing a major security system, stocking up on cash in my savings account, and doing anything I could to keep my family SAFE. This new version of me didn’t feel the same, and I hated it. I didn’t know anything about servicing the lawn mower, replacing an HVAC unit, or how to organize all the man-tools. 🫣 But… One day I decided I needed to surround myself with my own board of directors. A group of people who were experts at what they did who could help me talk through the options. I knew from my leadership experience that I didn’t need to have all the answers… I just needed to be resourceful and look to the people who do. This was a game changer for me in building back my confidence.
