I was delighted to contribute to this article in @bmj_latest on how can doctors get involved in research. There are now integrated academic training pathways that enable this and you can also speak to colleagues who are active researchers for advice. bmj.com/content/392/bmj.s98

One-size-fits-all doesn’t work in health research. Culturally relevant approaches help build trust, improve engagement and ensure health research truly reflects the communities it serves. #HealthEquity #EthnicHealth #InclusiveResearch #CommunityLed #CEHR

💬 "We need more neurodivergent people taking part. That's not just as participants, but also involved in designing, developing and delivering the research." Social media influencer @neuro_lou is a co-investigator on the NIHR-funded ORIGIN programme. The programme is designing an online arts and culture platform to support mental health in underrepresented 16- to 24-year-olds, including neurodivergent young people. Now she is encouraging more neurodivergent people to get involved in research - as both participants and by helping to design, develop and deliver studies. Read a Q&A with Lou about her experiences at bepartofresearch.nihr.ac.uk/…
