Scout is a Grok powered robot caretaker built with Grok Code. It runs on a Raspberry Pi, with Grok acting as the brain behind the system. Instead of just sitting in a chat window, Scout is being built as an embodied AI that has to interact with the real world and look after something alive. Its first responsibility is Biscuit, my female crested gecko. Scout is being designed to manage and monitor the things Biscuit depends on every day: food, water, humidity, enclosure temperature, routines, sensor data and survival conditions. The next stage is adding more enclosure sensors, better automation, camera monitoring, live data, and eventually 24 hour streaming so people can watch Scout and Biscuit’s setup evolve in real time. This token is being launched to fund Scout’s development. Fees will go back into upgrades for the robot, better gecko sensors, enclosure automation, hardware improvements, streaming setup, and everything needed to keep building the project publicly

Adding a Hermes Agent to Scout’s stack. The point is to give Scout a better care layer, not just more tools. Hermes will help turn Biscuit’s enclosure checks into routines, logs, alerts, and upgrade decisions. Humidity, temperature, food, water, moss, dirt, leaves, wood, small changes over time, all the boring stuff that actually matters. If something starts drifting, Scout should be able to notice it earlier and understand the pattern, not just react to one reading. It also helps make future upgrades more grounded. Better sensors, cameras, small arms, misting, lighting, anything that makes Scout more capable of looking after Biscuit properly.

Meet scout a little robot i built that is fully powered by grok Scout currently has one main task (Look after this gecko and make sure it doesn't die) So i guess we are watching if widely used public LLMs can actually form bonds and look after living creatures

This is so cool and even cooler for Scout and her duties of looking after her gecko biscuit Now i can give scout the utilisation of openclaw which is huge now scout can: - research better gecko care methods - compare sensors, cameras and enclosure hardware - find upgrades for its own body - look for parts without me manually searching everything - track prices and decide what upgrades matter most - use web tools instead of being stuck inside one local system - document its progress publicly - slowly improve the care loop around Biscui

The interesting part of Scout is not just that it is a robot beside a gecko enclosure. It is the care loop. Scout reads Biscuit’s environment, checks the conditions, tracks routines, notices changes, and slowly builds an understanding of what her little world needs. Temperature, humidity, light, food, water, habitat checks, all of it becomes part of the same loop. That is what I want to keep improving: not just a smarter AI, but an AI with better senses, better memory, and a real responsibility in the physical world.

Future Scout upgrades I’m looking at: Pi Camera Module: Gives Scout proper visual awareness of Biscuit and the enclosure. It can help with behaviour tracking, feeding checks, enclosure changes, and eventually 24 hour streaming. Water Level Sensor: Lets Scout know if Biscuit’s water supply is actually there instead of just assuming it is. Basic, but important for making the care loop more real. Automated Misting System: Lets Scout do more than read humidity. If the enclosure gets too dry, it can respond and help keep Biscuit’s habitat stable. The goal is to keep giving Scout more ways to understand and manage the little world it is responsible for.

Ordered UV light senors for Scout UV sensors add light awareness. That means better day/night tracking, better enclosure logs, more real data, and less guessing about the environment Biscuit actually lives in.

The part I ordered is a BME280 Environmental Sensor. What this means for Scout: - live temperature readings - live humidity readings - air pressure data - better enclosure monitoring - better care decisions for Biscuit - Scout can start tracking the environment in real time - less guessing, more actual sensor data
Just made my first upgrade purchase for scout using the fees gained from the token $SCOUT An upgraded humidity senor for Scout so it can make sure that biscuit is comfortable and safe and all times

i have no idea why a gecko would pick a fight with a dog but she did 😅

Scout is basically Grok given a body and one real task: look after Biscuit, my female crested gecko, and keep her alive. It runs on a Raspberry Pi and was built with Grok CLI / Grok Code. Instead of just answering prompts, Scout is being put into a real care loop where it has to watch the enclosure, check the conditions, and build routines around what Biscuit needs. Food, water, humidity, temperature, habitat checks, daily care, all of it becomes part of Scout’s job now. The whole point is to see what happens when an AI is not just talking about responsibility, but is actually given something living that depends on it.

Another cool thing i plan to do for scout is get a 24/7 live stream going where you can watch Scout look after biscuit in real time will be even more interesting when scout gets a small pair of arms or claws to have the ability to manually clean up or even hold biscuit

OH almost forgot and a personal x account for scout where it can post its updates on its own any sudden worries it has for the gecko etc

Scout ran its first proper habitat check for Biscuit. It checked: - terrain status - moss condition - soil depth - leaves - wood placement - humidity - temperature - food - water - whether any crickets had drowned in the water. Humidity was around 68%, the enclosure looked stable, and Biscuit seems to be thriving. this is the kind of routine I want Scout to build over time an embodied AI checking the small details that keep a living creature healthy.
