Meet @BrockwellUnited 👋 Their mission is simple - to empower and inspire women and non-binary people to play football ⚽️ This year they turn 5️⃣ and have celebrated with a new kit! 📸: @sickboylucien 🎨: @monocolo_net #TakeYourChance

Gender clinics are where you get referred to in order to get treatment as a trans person in the UK. A 5 year wait is not unusual so most people will need private treatment. The idea that healthcare is a national service is a myth. It’s been private for for years for trans people

Leaders, be accountable for the harm that takes place in the organisations, programmes and teams that you lead. Center the people who experienced the harm. "I'm sorry" "Are you OK?" "I'll take xx steps to make sure it doesn't happen again" You're the leader. This is your job.

6. People will fight to maintain and keep a faulty tool if they appear to gain from it, even if they learn it is wrong. Be wary of tool colonisation efforts.

Recently, an acquaintance in tech asked me what, in my experience as a public librarian, makes websites and apps unusable to people with limited technology access, and after a few days thinking about it, I’m gotta put one of the biggest ones as two-factor authentication.

The biggest influence on our lives are services, but we live in a world that is completely unprepared for the impact of them - on us, society and the planet. I wrote about why we need a new kind of service literacy now, what it is and how we get there loudowne.com/2021/11/24/why-…

@BTPLondon I just on a tube where 3 of your officers were either not wearing masks or wearing them with their nose out. It's a disgrace and a bad example. Why would people wear masks if people in authority who are paid to protect the public do not. How do I make a complaint?

Also one of them didn't have his badge number visible so we won't know who he was. That doesn't seem right.

Happy trans awareness week everyone! It’s so easy to think the UK as a massive💩 pile transphobia rn but its really *really* important that we don’t. Here’s why.

12.8% of UK Civil Servants identify as being disabled. The actual figure is likely to be higher. If your internal services and products aren't accessible that affects a lot of people and impacts on productivity and recruitment and retention. #AccessibilityRegulations #CDDO #a11y

Travelling to Cop26 from London you’ll have two viable choices; train or plane. 🚆 Train is £135 single ✈️ Plane is £25 single Over the last decade rail fares have rocketed by 50%. The chancellor cut domestic Air Passenger Duty, and baked in above inflation rail fare increases

Everytime you go to make a Mural/Miro board this week, ask yourself if it could be a document/sheet instead. Mural/Miro boards are not accessible. So if your reason is 'it looks better' or 'it's easier to understand' it doesn't count, because some people can't use them at all.

As we continue to witness very violent anti-LGBT hate crimes across the U.K., it’s important to remember that ‘coming out’ is not always a choice and is definitely not something queer people only experience in one singular moment #NationalComingOutDay
