WHO states that breastfeeding could save the lives annually of 8,20,000 children below 5 years of age. The theme for World Breastfeeding(BF) Week is ‘Enabling BF: Making a difference for working parents’& shines a light on workplace support, paid leave & more @world_midwives

Any Trust based Transformation Lead Midwives out there who would like to come together for support and shared learning in the South West. We are trying to pull together a community of practice. Let me know if you would like to be involved.

This looks like a great idea to facilitate early skin to skin which then supports breastfeeding and all the known health benefits. @TraceyKay19 @RDESpecServices @RDETheatres @MaternityRde
Today we trialled a @Iskushealth drape for an elective caesarean section. The baby is passed through an aperture in the drape for immediate skin to skin contact with the mother. Excellent feedback received by patients @EliMedd @UHP_NHS @PtExpUHP @helen_harling1 @mariannerowntr1

What would be refreshing is if @NHSEngland stopped TELLING mws how to work and asked us how we would LIKE to work! I am sure the knock on effect would be greatly improved retention, job satisfaction and benefits to service users. 🤔

After a mpsd we discussed how it is hard to know who everyone is esp in emergency situations. We talked about the names on hats but that it means people have to keep the same hat. What about getting some of these… with midwife, student mw, ob cons, LW coordinator. #rdematernity

Thanks public health England for not letting the NIPE smart system integrate with eprs and then being down all through my shift. Then to work again at the end of my shift so I have spent an hour and half documenting on another system after my shift. #maternity #digitalmidwives
