The Detroit school board is interviewing candidates to fill a vacant seat. The district told me to FOIA to review their applications. After filing a FOIA, the district said it would respond by Aug. 11 — well after the board’s vote to select its new member. chalkbeat.org/detroit/2025/0…

The regional enforcement office the attorney worked in was shuttered by the Trump administration before there was a resolution, leaving King uncertain of his future education.
