My first article on Celtic’s Summer 2026 Recruitment is up. I take an in-depth look at some exciting, young attacking midfield talents.

I’m currently working on my next SubStack article, focusing on Celtic’s Summer Recruitment. Starting with U22 attacking midfielders. Doing a data deep dive on
- Lucas Assadi (again)
- Luka Stojković
- Niko Tsakiris
- Mattia Liberali
Should be out in the next few days.
One last time…
Expected Points vs Actual Points for the final standings of the top six.
Note that Celtic have been in the red on this table for a large part of the season, in the last few months variance has swung our way and saw us finish with seven points more than expected.
Celtic’s structure — where the manager oversees football, the Chief Executive manages operations, and the Board provides oversight — has served the club with great success for more than two decades.

Not a good window. Especially when aware of better targets out there. My thoughts:
1) Being charitable, focus on loans presumably in lieu of O'Neill's short-term.
2) Points to a lack of over-arching recruitment dept. seen at modern clubs
3) Complicated by an incompetent board
There's been a lot of talk about Mvuka's regression since his move to FC Lorient.
I've done my usual Robust Z-score exercise comparing him to a peer group of wingers in similar leagues and of similar age to find out just how bad it is 🧵
✍️ We are delighted to announce the signing of Norwegian winger, Joel Mvuka, who has joined the club on loan from Lorient until the end of the season, subject to international clearance with the club having an option to buy.
🇳🇴 Welcome to Celtic, Joel

If you want to know how I built the peer group data set and how I calculated the Z-scores, I laid out my methodology in my Attackers Scouting report on Substack
