La La Ice Cream is closing permanently on Friday, another tough loss for Uptown. “…the doors to La La will close end of the day Friday 10/4. Remaining in this space is no longer financially feasible. Thank you for all the love and support brought our way over the last 8 years.”
Note in the window of La La Ice Cream on Hennepin in Uptown: Dear Patrons and fans of La la Ice Cream and Sugar & Salt, praises, happiness, support, and good food and ice cream vibes. Thank you for everything you have brought with you when coming here- your smiles, lost the war. I am sorry to say that with all the battles La La has won over the years, ultimately has La La hung in there when a little ice cream store didn't get open until mid August due to build out issues. Not a great time of year for a beginning. La a hung in there in 2018 when Hennepin Av right in front of the shop was completely ripped up and there wasn't even a side walk and a bulldozer seemed permanently parked in front of the window. La La managed to pivot and get through 2020 and 2021, even in 2022 when reopening after the usual January close was delayed after breaking a bunch of ribs after slipping on ice With the slow demise of uptown with so many businesses closing, lack of…

The croissant game at Lynette is ABSURDLY strong. We taste tested our way through 19 different local bakeries a while back - Lynette’s would be near or at the top of that group. Superb pan au chocolat too.
