Morning Twitter pals. I’m looking for interesting resources on #culturalappropriation - podcasts, articles etc. Preferably by people from cultures that have been/continue to be mined. Thank you!

The disgusting, disappointing racist remarks people take the time to write under stories on the tragedy that took place yesterday makes me heart sore but is, sadly, unsurprising. Only shows how much more work has to be done.

If you're one of the many, many people who condemns the whole BLM movement because of the protests, I trust you'll now also condemn every single person who wants to protect a statue. Or if, you've picked a side, realise these are your teammates.

Like millions of others, we are horrified by the victim-blaming front page which is echoing around all our virtual chambers today. It serves as an illustration of how far our industry still has to go in terms of tackling misogyny.

My reporters, sadly, attend court hearings regularly where domestic violence is raked over. Never, EVER, would I blast up the perpetrator's defence. Especially a boastful lack of contrition. If this is journalism, I'm starting to think I'm in the wrong job.

In the 18th century, Scotland saw the grotesque wealth England was amassing as a result of the triangular slave trade - enslaved people exchanged for goods then sold into servitude and their crops returned to be traded. heraldscotland.com/news/1850…
