hi everyone!! i have been super MIA between life and school and work but i am so close to being done exams and hope that i'll have more time to be active here again 🫶🫶🫶
SOOO many movies I wanna watch and I really want to play Mouthwashing since I've done my very best to avoid spoilers. I think it'd be a lot of fun to revive my twitch account and stream it C:
also i had to get an IV and with all the shit i've been through and watched in horror films, nothing freaks me out as much as an IV. I bet you could guess which scene in Smile 2 was the hardest watch for me!!!!
I can't wait to have my own place to decorate and throw Halloween parties. Hopefully this time next year, I'll be in my new apartment, have it all decked out to host a costume party with a saw marathon playing on the TV in the background.
In my undergrad at McMaster University, I took an awesome course called The History of Monsters. I took this at a time where I enjoyed horror but struggled to see symbolism in it and OH BOY were my eyes opened
The focus was on how the issues of the times created the popular monsters of the era. Vampires were the unknown stranger, zombies were bread from a fear of disease, etc.
Interest in horror will always exist. A lot of horror gets inspiration from real life terrors of the time. Sometimes, it's just campy and fun. Horror is a thrilling escape. It's much more fun to watch some supernatural flick than to watch a news story about real atrocities
