This might be controversial... The U.K government has launched a 'crackdown' on phones in schools. Recent campaigns from concerned parents have also gained popularity, calling for bans on phones at home for children. As a child therapist and online harms specialist, it might seem strange to hear me say, I think we are making a huge mistake. Banning phones is an emotional, flippant response based on fear. We should take steps to protect our children, which is why I give training to parents, teachers and professionals on exactly how to protect them from the harms of the internet and social media. So that children can enjoy the benefits of technology and the internet (which there are many!). I'm always up for a constructive debate though so comment below your thoughts...
