โLaaโ in Kalma-e-Shahadah is sheer atheism. Without Laa there is no Allah. It is just impossible to truly see the light Allah without first passing through the darkness of atheism. To become an authentic theist one necessarily has to become an authentic atheist first. One necessarily has to start with doubt and doubt everything so completely that every counterfeit god and truth gets shattered and rejected in the process. One has to stand alone amidst the ruins of everything he once considered unquestionable. One has to walk through atheism the way a traveler walks through a storm because there is no road around it. One has to stare into the terrifying possibility that there may be nothing, and only after surviving that encounter, in that nacked existential exposur, one becomes capable of recognising that final, unyielding, indestructible truth, which is Allah.
