It has always struck me as odd, in such a noisily Christian culture as the US, that Hollywood has built a Christmas film industry in which Christianity is nowhere to be found.

What happened in the Commons last night wasn't all that complicated. Govt motion on No Deal got amended, meaning Govt couldn't support the amended version. A few ministers sat out the vote but, because a major reshuffle isn't do-able in the midst of all this, didn't get fired.
