Before I required deposits, cancellation fees were really my only recourse at about a 30% success rate. Even then, it was amazing how many emergencies resolved themselves when I reminded them.

One guy literally tried to cancel last minute with the excuse that his daughter was hospitalized following a suicide attempt. I was sympathetic, of course, but still requested my fee. HE DECIDED TO KEEP HIS APPOINTMENT
