His own mother and family try to restrain him at one point in Mark 3 because of his insane behaviorβ¦
This is also likely why he could not do βmiraclesβ in is own home town, as they knew who he really was and he could not beguile them
He was also insistent on being recognized before helping others, and used threats for lack of belief. He tore people from their families, insisted on dividing people against one another out of faith in him.
In the end, it got the best of him after he started a riot before a major religious festival. He told his followers he was a king of a coming kingdom, and one of them ratted him out (probably out of lack of belief in his claims any longer)
His followers fled and had extreme guilt, and had concocted or had hallucinations of these βvisionsβ of him because they thought the kingdom was coming in their generation, just as Jesus said it would
But, it didnβt happen and they were left with nothing
So, they had to come up with fan-fiction and embellishments to the story and it keeps going on to this day about him βreturningβ because the original followers could not handle it that he failed
