New statement from WHEC regarding the firing of Jeremy Kappell. Unclear is when they first learned of the issue and whether he was terminated before, after or because of the call from Mayor Lovely Warren.

This is garbage, he obviously stumbled over his words and it wasn’t intended to be racist. Ruining someone’s career over a slip up of words is absolutely unacceptable. Mayor Lovely Warren should be ashamed of herself.
