International actors keep locals engaged in discussions of localisation, decolonisation, shifting power, and so on, without demonstrating progress on any of these in a commensurate manner.
Please join us to strengthen the first response mechanism of the communities. They are not passive recipients of aid, but active agents to come out of crises if supported well. #SaarathiFund is a massive effort in that direction. @seriousfunnyguy@ErRamanGambhir@MukeshPathakji
Those who survive or witness a disaster get into action to help each other without waiting for external help to arrive. #HAI aims at strengthening this first response mechanism through the #SaarathiFund. We will appreciate your contribution to this fund: hai-india.org/saarathi

@humanaidint doing some wonderful work here … please support in whatever way you can. A small gesture from you can make a big difference in someone’s life 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you so mcuh @DipTea__ ji for your contribution to the #SaarathiFund. We are building this fund to support initiatives of communities at risk of disasters. We shall be grateful to receive support from others as well: hai-india.org/saarathi
When a disaster strikes, survivors start responding to it immediately with whatever resources they have. This local response mechanism needs strengthening, which the #SaarathiFund intends to do. We invite fellow Indians to join the initiative: hai-india.org/saarathi

Our #SaarathiFund aims at making disaster responses much more effective, prompt and cost-efficient by supporting locally-led action. I invite all old supporters of @humanaidint to consider making a small contribution towards the fund: hai-india.org/saarathi
Speaking at the University of Liège, Belgium, on the risk and vulnerability of the frontline workers, and how the international reform discourse fails to include a few critical aspects for their overall risk mitigation.
#HAI invites Indian individuals, corporate donors and philanthropic organisations to join our #SaarathiFund to influence the community-led response approach in India. r.give.do/BxjyO_rb
Disaster responses work through the binary of aid providers and disaster survivors, overlooking that survivors are the first and best responders. @humanaidint's #SaarathiFund helps people to help themselves. We invite you to please support our initiative: hai-india.org/saarathi
The Indian NGO sector is in deep crisis, especially small and medium Indian organisations like @humanaidint. Many organisation heads are working without salaries or surviving on irregular payments. Dedicated staff are leaving, while many others are on the brink.
Meanwhile, country offices of international NGOs continue to flourish.
#HumanitarianAidInternational (#HAI) too appears to be in serious crisis and struggling to survive. It has been more than eight months without salaries to this reputed NGO, and his team is suffering deeply. I know them personally, they have sincerely devoted themselves to serving vulnerable and needy communities.
If this continues, India risks losing some of its most committed grassroots institutions.

#HAI was founded 10 years ago this day. We rapidly progressed since then to expand our programmes within the country and advocacy engagement globally, until we faced unnecessary blockage. I hope our barriers will be removed. @humanaidint
It’s been 10 years today since HAI @humanaidint was founded. I joined Sudhanshu ji 6 months later and it has been a wonderful journey since. We have done a lot of work together and we remain thankful to each one of you who believed in us 🙏
