Thankfully these incidents donβt happen too often. Although low frequency they unfortunately can be high consequence and require many organisations to come together rapidly and in harmony. Worth considering if this CPD event would help boost your organisationβs preparedness..

ALT GMFRS Chief Fire Officer, Dave Russel, said: βEveryone at GMFRS is shocked and deeply saddened by the untimely death of our colleague Watch Manager Dan Lee. βOur thoughts are with Danβs family and friends, as they have been over the past few days as the search for him has taken place. This is a tragic end to a very difficult week and not the outcome we all so desperately hoped for. βOn behalf of GMFRS, I want to thank Greater Manchester Police for their efforts in the search for Dan, as well as colleagues across GMFRS and residents and partners from across our city region who have supported the search. βDan, who served with GMFRS for 16 years, was a popular and valued member of our GMFRS family and he will be greatly missed."

A man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter following a gas explosion at a house in Heysham in which toddler George Arthur Hinds died.
Darren Greenham, 44, also admitted to theft. He was remanded into custody.
SharonΒ Greenham, 52, is set to stand trial for manslaughter in October.

β οΈ Lithium-ion batteries againβ¦ our firefighters rescued this person down a ladder because they were trapped in a burning house. The advice below is absolutely life-saving.

This was the result of a serious lithium-ion battery fire in Lancashire! Luckily, the occupant was rescued by our fire crews from a first floor bedroom window.
These batteries should only be charged and used as instructed. Make sure you have working smoke alarms in your home β οΈ

Some wildfires are started deliberately.
If you see anything suspicious report it anonymously to @CrimestoppersUK on 0800 555 111
Call 999 to report a fire - even if it is small fire.
In dry weather it can rapidly spread.
