There is systematic abuse of our welfare state by foreigners. A follower of mine, an DWP Work Coach, says some even deliberately don't learn English so they aren't obliged to work. "Hi David, I read your post regarding migrants and the cost to the welfare state. "I am a work coach for the DWP in a busy city centre job centre. We have a massive community of Somalians, Eritrean, Pakistani, & those from India. "People would be genuinely shocked to see the money that is paid out each month. £2000 per month is the average. "Many have been in the UK for 10 years yet do not work. Many don't even speak English and nor do they want to. "Unfortunately, the DWP & their policies make it impossible for me as a work coach to mandate them to do anything. "I can not even mandate them to go to English speaking lessons! "The provision for English speaking lessons is dire. We rely on local colleges and community hubs to provide this, and often, it is only for a few hours a week. You think the DWP would recognise this as a massive barrier to work and provide language courses, but they don't, despite staff reporting back that it should be an absolute requirement. "We all get so frustrated that the DWP doesn't allow us to make it a compulsory requirement or lose some of their benefits. "Many of these migrants also tell us they don't speak English because they know our hands are tied and we can do nothing with them. "It's likely many are working on the black market, but this is incredibly hard to prove, and our fraud teams are over whelmed. "The women are far worse. They tell us that in their countries they don't work. They refuse to work more than a few hours a day as they want to be at home for their children. "When I've told them that I'm a mum and returned to work when my children were 3 years old, I've been told numerous times that "English Mums are not good." "Until the DWP toughen up on their policies and allow us to impose sanctions, then these people will not have worked a day in 10 years to come. "As someone who's always worked, I find it obscene that not only do we allow these people sanctuary in our country, but we pay them thousands of pounds each month and get nothing in return. "Unfortunately, many of our policies are for the benefit of the claimants and not the good of the country. "Until a government has some backbone to deal with this, then it will continue & so will those who cross the water to 'drink from our very deep and generous benefits well'".
