Took an evening drive from the Puri countryside in Krushnaprasad to Brahmapur, Ganjam. What a beautiful sight. Mountains, villages, the sunset, and Chilika lake right by our side. Odisha is a total hidden gem and so underrated.

On this #WorldEnvironmentDay, meet Bapi Gochhayat, a one-man army keeping Paradip Beach clean.
Every day at 6 AM, he cycles to the beach with just gloves, a broom, and a bag, spending two hours cleaning the coastline before heading to work.
Since 2022, he has removed over 6 tonnes of plastic waste from the beach.
A true environmental warrior. Odisha is proud of its unsung heroes.

Discovered at Mohenjo-daro in undivided India this steatite seal, about 4,300-year-old, shows a seated figure in yogic posture (widely seen as Shiva-Pashupati) seated in Mulabandhasana, surrounded by animals.
While ancient sites may lie across modern borders, India remains the living custodian of this heritage. The yogic posture, Shaivite symbolism, and spiritual ethos seen in the Pashupati Seal continue to thrive in India’s temples, daily worship of Shiva, yogic traditions, and cultural life even today.

A ₹100 crore proposal has been submitted for comprehensive development, including grand statues of Kalinga rulers including Mahameghavahana Kharavela.
Plans include walking parks, musical fountains, modern lighting, ramps/lifts for elderly & differently-abled visitors, an open-air amphitheater with lecture center, and dedicated heritage pathways.
