This very well may be the dumbest play in NBA Finals history. Up 1 after just grabbing the loose ball you one MILLION percent hold the ball and let the Knicks foul you to get you to the free throw line.
You absolutely cannot do this after coughing up a 30-point lead on the road.

I don't think people realize that was a fantastic shot by Jalen Brunson at the end. He sees he's gonna be doubled with Wemby out there and his teammates ready to crash, so he throws it up there and if it goes in, it goes in, but he gives his teammates a better chance to get the board with Wemby not in the paint.

I feel this is a direct detriment to the cup car itself. If the only way to keep fans entertained are several chaotic restarts throughout a race, that's a big problem.
NASCAR's peak popularity was the late 90's and early 2000, and the common theme then was simple: zero stage cautions.
I still feel a healthy compromise would be to keep stages around, but do away with the stage caution period to keep races green.

If you get rid of stages and races start going green to checkers because there’s less attrition then ever before people will lose interest.
I’d rather stage cautions than mystery yellows for nothing or drivers throwing roll bar padding out the window.
