GiGL sits at the core of the ecological community and is able to support individuals throughout their recording journey; we can connect newcomers with established groups to provide support and inspiration, as well as sharing resources, advice and standards for data collection.

For those with some recording experience, we can create data summaries/reports/visualisations to guide further recording and learning. We can also assist established recorders in creating London-wide Atlases and connect experts with policymakers and newcomers to share knowledge.

#LDN24 Takeaway #3 Engaging with underrepresented groups in and outside the ecological community is vital to inspire future recorders, verifiers and ecological practitioners. This will ensure ongoing awareness and advocacy for the natural environment across all communities.

GiGL works closely with the GLA to help ensure a data-driven approach is taken towards London-wide GI policies like the LNRS as well as creating resources for the public to understand how we help to deliver on these policies and inform them of how they can get involved
