/me has begun to realize that very few people in 2026 even know what the "/me" notation is from.
Very few people knew in 1996 or 2006, either, but that number is almost surely approaching 0% these days.
Hypothetical: if you gave an average (~40-70th on @PGATOUR) a few months to train with the equipment available in 1913 but modern LMs, video, stats, GamePlanning, with one entry, how many times out of 100 would they have won the U.S. Open, par 73, 6245 yards?
Got this message from a student today. I think that a good chunk of my coaching is teaching people how to practice effectively. Even I fall prey to the pitfalls occasionally. Practicing well is tough. Changing movement patterns is tough. Props to those of you out there doing it.
15 years ago I watched a guy bring out a pro camera to record what I’m sure he thought was his breakthrough instructional video.
The whole premise was that the center of the swing was the right elbow.
I wonder what happened to that guy and his video.
One of the best things you can learn from Tour players is how exaggerated they'll do something just to tweak a movement by a cm or two. Feel ain't real, even when you're one of the game's best, especially when you're working on an improvement. Thanks @JustinThomas34 for sharing.
I cringe a bit when someone (Wright Thompson in this case) says something like “It’s nearly impossible to win.” Someone wins literally EVERY golf tournament, including the @PGAChampionship. It’s clearly not “nearly impossible.” “Difficult to win” I can understand. Impossible? No.
A group of amateur golfers… who are professional administrators.
Surely the real question is why would we let somebody who plays golf for a living decide what is best for the game?
Some good work with @andremitrik on @GearsSports Hybrid: width at the top makes it easier to get the handle down. The after is a mild exaggeration (we'd settle for 85° elbow at the top 😀), but a big jump.

This was after we worked with the @rotexmotion floor units to reduce pelvis turn and increase activity in the legs throughout the backswing.
@GearsSports measures everything, so you *know* what changes you're making, what feels produce, what improves and how much. #PlayBetter
Many well-meaning instructors understand and coach how they think the swing should “look” while good instructors understand/coach how the swing actually “works.”
The difference in language is often subtle, but pay attention and you can see it.
One of my students won his club championship and another shot his best comp round ever. These are the types of things that can happen when you get good information but, far more importantly, put in the time and work to apply it. Students get 99% of the credit here!
Congrats!
The blue golfer (before) is "waving the sweet spot around." The gold golfer (after) is delivering the club along a "straighter" path, which is typically more efficient/consistent for strike location/path.
Most downswings are a reaction to how you arrive at the top. #PlayBetter
I get it - we aren’t playing in top flight of U.S. Soccer pyramid. But we are a part of Pittsburgh pro sports, and given what the entire @RiverhoundsSC club & community has accomplished in recent years, it’s about time the city’s media recognized that
Your arms and hands should stay mostly “in front” of your chest, and the rotation of your chest is largely responsible for gaining depth. If you’ve been trying to take your “hands in” by moving your arms… move your chest instead. The hands go UP, not around. #PlayBetter
This is one of the most impressive archives in the history of American music.
Aadam Jacobs taped 10,000 shows in Chicago from 1984-2019.
It’s all being digitized for the first time.
Some of my favorites so far.
Nels Cline and Jeff Parker (July 2006)
The Feelies (March 1983)
Uncle Tupelo (November 1992)
R.E.M. (November 1987)
Archers of Loaf (August 1994)
Tim Easton (July 2006)
The Wrens (January 2004)
h/t @aidanshandle for this nifty player

To the announcers at @TheMasters… the plural of "hole in one" is not "hole in ones" but "holes in one."
This is almost as bad as Presidents or others in positions of power or intellect (rarely both together 🤣) who pronounce "nuclear" as "nucular".
How it started… and how it went! 8-12 MPH increases in clubhead speeds aren't *too* common, but they're easier when you #GetInGEARS with @GearsSports and work on the right things.
First five were all stock swings after warming up. Last five swings were all over 91 MPH.
