simplethread.com/20-things-i… This is by far one of the most useful articles I've read in a long while. The ownership argument is so true and so undervalued. šŸ‘ @JustinEtheredge

Every time you push --force to a branch being reviewed your memory leaks a little more.

If there's one thing working in a comms tool for distributed organizations puts to the test is how you're gonna change the wheel of this moving truck without ever stopping it.

The anxiety of wanting to ship that one feature, but there's always a little detail you need to sort out first.

"Oh we have a flaky test, let me fix that in another PR" "Oh this factory is not correct. I'll fix it in another PR first" "I don't even get this test, let alone how I broke it. Let me refactor in another PR" ... Next daily: ... anyhow, we have 418 PRs for 1 task.

You know you're old when the UX in your side projects matter as much as it working. Not even I will bother to use it otherwise. šŸ™„

You know you're in deep when the Elixir docs don't cut it anymore and you have to plunge into Erlang. 🤿

Today will be a good day. Not sure why. Or for what. Maybe not that good, but better. Or at least not worse. I hope. Shit...

The trick to being a productive procrastinator is also being an overachiever with anxiety issues. There's always more than one ball in the air, so one can procrastinate one project by obsessing over another.

Hand-holding someone is not a bad thing. Better for them to spend a week shadowing you to build a relationship and learn, than to throw them to the wolves. Real seniors should know this from their own experience.

My super power? Honey I'm having a full blown panic attack in front of you and you think I'm just focused on what I'm reading. Internally I'm screaming.

And take breaks. Nothing stops you from submitting the review half-way through and write "taking a break, not finished".
#CodeReviewTip of the Day: If you're reviewing a big PR, it might be a good thing to let the author know that you've already started. On the other hand, if you're waiting for a review of your long PR, give the reviewer extra time.

Can I get an amen? Also applies to duplication. I don't care if you have 10 files with similar boilerplate code, if it's the convention and expected, **do not** make an abstraction. Others will know where to look for flaws.
#CodeReviewTip of the Day: Prioritise readability over fewer lines of code. Code readability is very important for the developer reviewing your code. You might write everything in only one line, but how easy will it be to review?
