Japanese Government Approves First Basic Plan Based on the Act on the Promotion of Public Understanding of LGBT People.
The plan includes concrete measures to prevent discrimination against sexual and gender minorities, implementing LGBTQIA education programs in schools, universities, government institutions, and workplaces.
Among the measures are the expansion of counseling services, training programs for teachers and school staff, the promotion of academic research, and the dissemination of knowledge aimed at fostering understanding of sexual and gender diversity, among other initiatives.
