I just remembered something that used to scare me as a child.
Back then, if a pregnant woman was seen walking around in the afternoon, elders would immediately start warning her to go back inside. Some even spoke as if something terrible could happen if she stayed out too long.
To this day, nobody has ever properly explained why.
Was it to protect her from the heat? A cultural belief? Or is there a story behind it that this generation doesn't know?
What's the real reason pregnant women were told not to walk around in the afternoon?
