Peacocks for #mosaicmonday, here with vine tendrils & a basket of grapes. Well-observed, good quality work with, in the lower border, a striking decorative tromp-l'oeil ribbon set against a dark background & picking up colouring from the birds' plumage. Antioch 2-4c CE

I never realised there was a #thursdaybridges! This is the Royal Border Bridge crossing the River Tweed at Berwick-upon-Tweed, though the border is actually 3 miles further north. Built in 1847-1850 by Robert Stephenson, son of the railway pioneer, George Stephenson.
