Sectors are dissolving in the customer-facing world. Retail, FMCG, travel, hospitality, streaming, gaming, services... all compete/collaborate/copy in the push for the customer's disposable and discretionary spend. #AI is both the solvent and accelerant. open.substack.com/pub/ianjin…

A reminder that Sadiq Khan won three elections in a row by large majorities against Conservative opponents, one of whom, Shaun Bailey, was then given a seat in the House of Lords for life. Funnily enough I don't remember the Daily Mail describing that as a "reward for failure"

Tesco, good, occasionally busy later. Sainsbury’s, moderate to good, rough in toilet roll aisle. Asda, light to moderate, heavy crowds by evening. M&S and Co-Op, fair. Waitrose, fair to moderate. Lidl, rough at first, easing later. And that’s the end of the Shopping Forecast.

Dick Cheney: “In our nation’s 248-year history, there has never been an individual who is a greater threat to our republic than Donald Trump. He tried to steal the last election using lies and violence to keep himself in power after the voters had rejected him. He can never be trusted with power again.   "As citizens, we each have a duty to put country above partisanship to defend our Constitution. That is why I will be casting my vote for Vice President Kamala Harris."
