Yes. If you read interviews w/ Takahashi it almost seems like the world is the only thing he truly cares about. He's apathetic of his scripts after he writes them. 2's artstyle is partly b/c it was contemporary. He said Mitsuda showed him the importance of music during Gears
No Xenoblade is not defined by its character designs, it is defined by how the world is constructed you can immediatly tell its that series once you see it is in a Halo ring/Hollow eatth.Also xenoblade 3 did outsell 1 and X is the worst selling one by a wide margin.

This isn't to say he doesn't have artistic tastes, obv he does. Really the wavelength i share with him is why he is basically the only game creator I have an interest in following rn. But its clear his MO, esp now, is to create worlds/universes and wrap it around trends for sales

Also sidenote i think this is the biggest difference in Saga and Takahashi's writing. His writing serves the world/universe more and he tries to get his characters to tell its story.
