Back from a productive week in Mozambique 🇲🇿, engaging a wide range of stakeholders, from PSCs & CSOs to government & unions. Our country-focused approach prioritises long-term, sustainable engagement with all key actors and collective action to raise #privatesecurity standards.
🇲🇿 In Maputo, ICoCA, @DCAF_Geneva & @CDD_Moz co-hosted a conference on a more accountable #privatesecurity sector. Gov, industry, clients & CSOs discussed standards & collaboration, supporting Mozambique’s National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights & ICoCA accession.
Running La Course de l’Escalade last Saturday🍲🇨🇭 reminded us that teamwork, perseverance and looking out for each other aren’t just for races – they’re everyday essentials for protecting human rights. ✊ This #HumanRightsDay, we celebrate them.
Last week’s 12th AGA united the ICoCA community to review achievements, discuss priorities and look ahead.
We were proud to announce the winners of our first #ResponsibleSecurity Awards, recognising leadership in responsible practices.

🇳🇬 Last week, ICoCA's visit to Nigeria was also an opportunity to engage PSCs, clients, regulators & civil society. Discussions focused on operational challenges, human rights, accountability, sector collaboration, working conditions & Nigeria’s potential participation in ICoCA.
🇳🇬 After a successful start in the DRC, the Corporate Accountability Initiative (CAI), with TRIAL & @AfriLaw and co-funded by the EU, held its 2nd training to empower Nigerian CSOs to monitor, document and report corporate crimes, including abuses linked to #privatesecurity.
