The International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (
@icsid) is exploring the operationalisation of its services in Ghana, a move that could further strengthen investor confidence and reinforce Ghana’s position as a preferred investment destination in Africa.
During a high-level engagement with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), ICSID Secretary-General, Madam Martina Polasek, and Senior Counsel, Madam Aissatou Diop, discussed opportunities for Ghana to serve as a regional hub for investor-state dispute prevention, mediation, and capacity building.
The discussions also highlighted Ghana’s growing strategic relevance, including its role as host of the AfCFTA Secretariat, strong institutional environment, and increasing importance within Africa’s investment landscape.
GIPC CEO, Mr Simon Madjie, expressed the Centre’s interest in partnering with ICSID to strengthen capacity in dispute prevention, grievance handling, and investor facilitation, as part of efforts to maintain a predictable, transparent, and investor-friendly business environment.
