Hello MULTI/DEX 🔥 Should DFINITY release the most powerful DeFi application the world has ever seen? What's cool about it? Here are some factoids, the craziest at the end: 1. It runs on an ICP cloud engine (soon everyone can have one) and is 100% network resident and tamperproof. 2. It is genuinely multi-chain, with no bridging hassles for users (users can deposit straight into their accounts, and withdraw directly, from the native chains of tokens). 3. It is order book based, but also provides a traditional swap interface, which swaps arbitrary assets by routing across the underlying markets. 4. It supports both spot trading, and margin trading that lets traders go long and short with leverage. 5. It has an AMM (Automated Market Maker) that uses Internet Computer outcalls to determine outside prices, then delayed matching against AMM limit orders to prevent arbitrageurs draining liquidity, as can occur with traditional DEXs providing swaps. 6. The AMM maintains a unified liquidity vault, and doesn't need two liquidity pools for every trading pair, providing outstanding capital efficiency and liquidity compared with traditional DeFi systems. 7. Users can earn by depositing into the AMM Vault, and into an insurance pool that protects the vault from margin calls that fail to recover all capital (the insurance pool gets 5% of all liquidations). 8. MULTI/DEX runs on the decentralized Internet Computer network, and is 100% open source — unlike HyperLedger, say, which remains closed source, and has an single-purpose architecture closer to federated CEX hosted on a symmetric cluster of federated servers. 9. If we go ahead, we would propose that MULTI/DEX runs as part of the Internet Computer, in the sense it is controlled and updated by the NNS (The Internet Computer's Network Nervous System, the world's largest and most sophisticated DAO, which directly orchestrates and updates the network) providing unparalleled levels of autonomy, transparency, and security. 10.... and this is the BIG ONE... its backend is built using the latest Motoko language framework (soon to be released) that puts AI *inside* of its software. That means, in another seminal inventive step from DFINITY and Caffeine Labs technology teams, that AI can see, browse and query the realtime data inside the app/dapp's persistent memory and can create and execute ad hoc queries and update logic on-the-fly (subject to permissions). So, while for much of the time traders will be using the traditional UX shown in the pic, increasingly, they will be interacting with the exchange through AI chats that have the "Internet Computer Connector" MCP installed (soon to be released). On the one hand, traders will be able to use chat to ask for simple things, like current spot pricing and market depth, and the likely slippage on a spot market order, and for orders to be submitted, but on the other, for much more demanding things that require the AI to execute ad hoc functionality, such as "Look at my positions and margin pools, and rebalance them to give me more blended market exposure, while also adjusting for risks indicated by social media coverage of forthcoming market events, but wait for my approval of your plan before proceeding." This is a lot to take in, so I'm aiming to get a new demo video out ASAP that will demonstrate what's possible with this AIware, which will include MULTI/DEX — should be about a week!! Btw. for those wondering what might be the big picture beyond what I just described with MULTI/DEX: At DFINITY, we are in the process of transforming ourselves into an "agentic organization," where all our existing apps/SaaS is replaced by custom on-demand apps/SaaS running on cloud engines that are created and updated by AI. Of course, these on-demand apps/SaaS are being built using the new technology described that automatically puts AI inside and provides users with fluid functionality via chat. The totality of the apps/SaaS represents an enterprise "World Model," which incorporates as much of the enterprise's data as possible, enabling AI to perform incredibly powerful analyses and actions — when you see this is in action, you can't unsee what you saw, because it's clearly a huge leap beyond the status quo of today's tech, which is exactly what the Internet Computer project is about. This wraps up our new technology stack, created by leaning on unique aspects of "The Network is The Cloud" paradigm, and years of work, and what, together with cloud engines, will finally enable the Internet Computer to strike out into the massive mainstream cloud technology market.

Cloud engines run in three steps. 1) Select your nodes Pick hardware, operators, geography. 4 to 100 nodes per engine, any continent. 2) Fund your engine Pay in USD. Cycles power everything. No infra overhead. 3) Deploy your apps Install from App Center or push direct. Connect your AI agent. Zero servers to manage. One node fails. Apps keep running. opencloud.org

Nearly every solopreneur, startup, SME, enterprise or government department, will want to become an agentic organization (or "cybernetic org"). They will be vastly smarter, faster and more efficient. Internet Computer Protocol (ICP) helps enable this brave future. But how? 🧵

Not to be biased, but the objective data backs it up: it's retail that's been doing the selling. The market simply hasn't assigned value to ICP yet, and some longer-term holders have lost patience after several years, which is fair. The market rewards different things, otherwise it would be impossible to explain how memecoins reach market caps dozens of times higher than projects shipping real infrastructure. And we're not talking about performance here; that's where you could fire back with "but other tokens aren't as inflationary." We're talking market cap, where supply is already baked into the math. What's actually happening on the adoption side: - Pakistan Digital Authority signed an MoU with DFINITY for a sovereign Pakistan Subnet: national-scale AI, in-country data, a national messenger app, 1,500 Caffeine licenses - Switzerland deployed a sovereign subnet weeks earlier - DFINITY × UNDP partnership on Universal Trusted Credentials, piloting in Cambodia with plans to scale to 10 countries What that means for value: -Sovereign cloud deployments = multi-million-dollar compute lock-in per nation -Each sovereign subnet = perpetual, non-speculative ICP burn -UN-level legitimization is something ETH and SOL simply don't have at the nation-state layer Honest comparison: - Solana: zero sovereign deployments - Ethereum: zero significant sovereign deployments - ICP: multiple confirmed sovereign deployments and pilots This is exactly the kind of traction the crypto market isn't pricing in, because it reads as "boring infrastructure" vs. "memecoin pump." But it's also exactly what institutional capital looks at. Now the honest counterpoint, because pretending otherwise would be cope: Ethereum Classic had the same tech as ETH and stayed near $20 while ETH ran to $4,500. Bitcoin Cash shared BTC's foundation and never recovered. Litecoin was supposed to be "silver to Bitcoin's gold" and has been stagnant for years! Fundamentals don't automatically translate into price. Narrative, timing, and market structure matter. But the asymmetry on ICP, actual sovereign-scale adoption that no other L1 has, is the kind of thing that, if it ever does get priced, doesn't get priced gradually.

Spent the afternoon building a hostel site in Caffeine. It's a mockup, not a real hostel - but every piece works. Booking flow, rooms, activities, a Lisbon map with walk times to the metro. Just by describing what we wanted.

Oh my… @Bankless writing a whole thread on “Solving Crypto’s Frontend Problem” without once acknowledging that full‑stack, tamper‑proof internet services (frontend, backend, and data) have been running on decentralized cloud networks for years is actually insane. Crypto doesn’t only have a frontend problem, it has a glaring journalism credibility problem. Who, in 2026, still talks about “frontend hosting” like it’s unsolved while ignoring architectures where the application runs end‑to‑end on a decentralized compute network and is served directly over HTTP, with no Web2 servers and no reliance on traditional DNS as a security choke point? Human‑error attack surfaces get radically smaller when there’s no web2 backend to phish or socially engineer. Y’all hyping tiny bytecode tweaks on legacy L1s like they’re groundbreaking while the real full‑stack, decentralized cloud solution has been live since 2021. The blind spot is embarrassing. Or is it intentional?
DNS hijacks are spiking in crypto. CoW Swap and eth (dot) limo were both hit. You visit a frontend, everything looks normal, you sign a transaction and funds go to an attacker's wallet. The defense isn't better detection. It's frontends that STRUCTURALLY can't be cracked. Two approaches already exist: > IPFS ENS: Your frontend lives on a distributed file network instead of a server. Point your web3 domain (ENS) at that file. No DNS, no central server to compromise > Fully onchain (ERC-4804): The app itself lives inside smart contracts. The frontend is served directly from Ethereum Sadly though, regular browsers can't load either. That’s why we have web3 browsers like: > Freedom Browser: open-source browser that loads ENS domains and IPFS sites natively, the same way Chrome loads (dot) com addresses > EVM Browser: built around the web3:// protocol, loads apps served directly from smart contracts on Ethereum or any EVM chain The proof of concept is already live. @z0r0zzz built zSwap is a DEX frontend deployed ENTIRELY into Ethereum contract bytecode for under $5. Anyone can load it through EVM Browser. In other words: No servers, No DNS, Nothing to hack. Every DeFi project should ship a permanent onchain frontend as a fallback. Best security is just to go straight to the contract. The tools exist. Build toward it.

There’s currently a display issue in the NNS dapp (8y amount not sourced), which affects the APY and 10% bonus/flag shown. Backend calculations are correct. Fix coming tomorrow.

Caffeine v3.0 is launching on $ICP, bringing the ultimate tech stack with it 🔥 → Remixable, mutable on-chain App Market → Verifiable AI inference via the Internet Intelligence Network → Enterprise "Cloud Engines" running over traditional AWS/GCP nodes → Ultra-Low-Cost Data Storage → Targeting the Trillion-Dollar Market The network is the cloud, and the cloud is self-writing.
Caffeine v3.0 ☕️, Tuesday, April 7th caffeine.ai A new era begins on ICP in a few days. A huge Caffeine upgrade will take place. This is about more than the new features it packs: what can be built on the Internet Computer through chat alone shall advance by a quantum leap. It will blow your mind, because you can go so much further: those wanting to build apps and services on self-writing cloud, where every technical task is automated and directed by natural language interaction, may rationally decide that the Internet Computer is the place to be thanks to the work of Caffeine Labs. But, stunning as the v3.0 advance is, this only marks the beginning of a new beginning for ICP. Caffeine is just getting started, and will be joined by other major advances unfolding in the ICP ecosystem. Several things are coming together: 1) The architecture that powers Caffeine v3.0 will ensure it continues to grow more powerful as time goes on. We expect that it will be possible for non-technical people to build almost anything on the Internet Computer in the future. Eventually special features like "Caffeine Snorkel" will also make it possible to auto-migrate legacy apps and services to the Internet Computer. 2) For the first time, Caffeine will allow all users to publish the App Market, so that other users can install copies of their apps, and if they want, remix them, since apps from the market are mutable and can be changed as needed. This is important change will be followed by the activation of monetization features, which will kickstart a new open source onchain economy based around the AI-driven development of re-usable apps and services. 3) Caffeine apps use ICP Blob Storage (which is currently exclusively available to Caffeine owing to its ongoing development) to maintain copies of files and binary large objects. Coming advances will enable Caffeine apps to store data at the world's best $/GB — making the Caffeine the perfect plartform to use to build apps that must store and share large amounts of data (for example, for a photo sharing app, or a team communications platform where video meetings are routinely recorded and archived). 4) Caffeine will soon be joined by new ICP "cloud engine" functionality, and then, the Internet Intelligence Network (IIN) — two new parts of the Internet Computer. Cloud engines will provide enterprise users with much more control over how the Internet Computer hosts their apps and services. IIN will provide everyone with access to inference on open weights models at lower cost than is possible today (for example allowing a business to create an e-commerce website on the Internet Computer where every customer can be helped through product exploration by AI, without worrying about the cost). 5) Cloud engines, which are essentially private subnets that can be controlled via a control panel, enable the Internet Computer to provide a cloud experience that feels more familiar to prosumers and enterprises used to centralized clouds. Users will be able to select the nodes combined to power their cloud engines, and nodes can include cloud-on-cloud nodes, such as AWS instances, as well as traditional sovereign node hardware. These nodes can be chosen to match precise throughput needs, or regulatory requirements (e.g. GDPR). The Internet Computer is thus transforming into a mass market cloud solution. 6) Powerful additional advantages of cloud engines include a) since they are essentally Internet Computer subnets, as usual hosted apps and services are tamperproof and unstoppable, and don't require support by security and systems administration personnel, b) hosted apps can have their query throughput auto-scaled horizontally by adding nodes, which can be located in proximity to demand, and can have ther update throughput auto-scaled by splitting the engines — enabling auto-scaling where software does not have to be updated — and c) owners can traverse underlying compute vendors and geographies and jurisdictions, simply by adding and deleting nodes, which can be done without interrupting hosted apps. 7) The Internet Intelligence Network is an extension to the Internet Computer that we plan to propose to the NNS soon (which I have mentioned before). This will be powered by community-operated hardware devices, which crucially, in combination with new technology we are developing, shall shall facilitate provision of lower per-token inference costs than AI clouds can currently achieve within targeted market segments (low costs that are derived from the technology involved, in contrast to certain contemporary decentralized GPU networks that use token appreciation to drive unsustainable subsidization flywheels). 8) A key unique additional aspect of IIN is that inference is verifiable, just like onchain compute — that is, those supplying prompts and context will know that their results are correct, and shall not have to trust that the IIN nodes powering inference haven't changed their results (for example, by inserting advertising, or malicious content). The strength of the verification is configurable. In the default mode, there will be no discernible difference in cost or performance/time thanks to the techniques developed. In higher security modes, useful for special high-security purposes, verification cost will scale linearly with every node checking the inference, while the hit to performance/time remains very small. (Note that because inference is non-deterministic, inference verification is technically challenging and novel, and will advance the state-of-the-art). In all, v3.0 is part of the Internet Computer's march towards the mainstream cloud market, which is predicted to generate $1 trillion in revenue in 2026, and $2 trillion in 2030. While we see the Internet Computer as a revolutionary decentralized cloud platform, rather than a network beloning to the web3 industry per se, we note that after tokens (Bitcoin), and DeFi (Ethereum), onchain cloud is the first new decentralized network functionality to unlock mass market potential — and it's happeing exclusively on the Internet Computer, which is by far the most technologically advanced network the world has ever seen. ICP is advancing to define an important new cloud sector, where the network is the cloud, and the cloud is self-writing.

There is currently over $1 trillion in Bitcoin - the majority of which is sitting idle. Most Bitcoin holders, including institutions, companies with Bitcoin on their balance sheets, and retail users, do not want to sell their holdings. @LiquidiumFi presents an alternative: Rather than selling, holders can continue to keep their Bitcoin and access value by borrowing against it.
