Got selected for gsoc 26 i’ll be working with the @openstreetmap community on improving nominatim’s search engine… adding category support so instead of hacks like combining multiple tags or dealing with duplicate entries, devs can do things like: “vegan restaurants with wheelchair access” or cleanly query across categories like `osm.amenity.*` super excited to build this and learn a lot along the way… will do my best this summer :) summerofcode.withgoogle.com/…

Every new release from the original chatGPT onwards has come with the same discourse attached to it. > Day 1 is hype maximization. > Day 20 is when the model gets neutered (i.e. 'distilled'). > Day 90 next model released, with the same hyped discourse.

Insane.... Claude Fable 5 just one-shotted this Ratatui design, with rain and snow physics engine.
Introducing Claude Fable 5: a Mythos-class model that we’ve made safe for general use. Its capabilities exceed those of any model we’ve ever made generally available.

I have a new kind of big button that I can press for Codex. Over the next 100 days, we will select one person per day who does impressive or incredibly useful work with Codex and give them 10X usage limits for a month to see what they can do with it. First one tomorrow.

Hope they can shrink down Chrome memory usage next.
Google's new algorithm just shrunk 31GB of memory down to 4GB 🤯 TurboVec is a new open-source tool that stores the data your AI app searches through, using 16x less memory. It runs on Google's TurboQuant, which skips the slow setup step every other tool needs. → Faster search than the popular alternative (FAISS) → Works on both Mac and standard servers → Narrow results to exactly what you want → Plugs straight into LangChain and LlamaIndex Your data never leaves your machine. Runs fully offline, works with Python out of the box. 100% Open Source.

hardest problem i've solved in my gsoc so far: how do you take an OSM object with 5 different tags (amenity, tourism, building, wheelchair access, cuisine) and represent it in a database without creating 5 separate rows? been stuck on this for the last 2-3 week before come up with a design.. Thread below
