Before the debut of the Cape Verde national team at the World Cup. Vozinha’s father, Mr. José Pedro Dias, made a video call to his son, completely overwhelmed with emotion, while saying that Vozinha had actually been born during the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. Mr. José said that he wanted to name his son Jorge, in honor of Jorge Valdano, but Cape Verde’s registration rules did not allow it. So he ended up naming him Josimar, inspired by the Brazilian fullback of the same name. And now, 40 years later, he was able to watch his son make his World Cup debut and become one of the standout players of the match. Football is truly beautiful.

THIS COACH IS A GENIUS! Right after Amad Diallo scored a stunning goal to give Ivory Coast national football team the victory in the World Cup: The Ivorian coach celebrated with all his heart. He made the jump of his life—it looked as if he had scored the goal himself. But it all makes sense. Emerse Fae brought Amad Diallo onto the field in the second half, and that substitution turned out to be the man who scored the winning goal. He may not have the reputation of some other coaches, but he managed to end the Ecuador national football team's 19-match unbeaten streak. He deserves much more respect. At just 42 years old, he won his first match in his first World Cup.

YOU HAVE OUR RESPECT, JAPAN! After the final whistle of Japan's match against the Netherlands: In the stands, all the Japanese fans took out their trash bags and began cleaning the section of the stadium they had occupied. It is one of the most important traditions during the World Cup, demonstrating respect and good manners. For many, it may seem insignificant, but this gesture represents Japan: leaving a place clean is a way of showing respect. It is wonderful to see this tradition continue every four years. Stars on and off the pitch.

Japan national football team under Hajime Moriyasu continues making history and earning everyone's respect. To put into perspective what Japan keeps achieving since Hajime Moriyasu took charge of the Samurai in 2018: they defeated Germany national football team. They defeated Spain national football team. They defeated England national football team. They defeated Brazil national football team. They drew against Netherlands national football team. There is nothing more dangerous in the football world than seeing Hajime Moriyasu pull out his notebook and start taking notes. Without a doubt, we are witnessing the greatest generation in Japan's history.

🚨🇨🇼 Curaçao are the SMALLEST nation to ever reach a World Cup tournament. They have a population of just 156,000. ✨ They've just scored against 4x World Champions Germany. This is INCREDIBLE. 🥹

While Brazil was drawing against Morocco in its World Cup debut, Marcelo was watching from the stands. We won't deny it—we'd give anything to see him wear the Brazil shirt again. Nothing against the current players, but Marcelo was pure magic. He operated on a different level. Some fans will always choose Roberto Carlos, others will choose Marcelo. We're not here to compare them. What we will say is that Marcelo was never appreciated as much as he deserved. Imagine what it would be like to have him in today's Brazil team. EVERY DAY, FOOTBALL MISSES YOU MORE, LEGEND. 🇧🇷✨⚽

➟ He attended the 2018 World Cup as a fan. ➟ He earned a scientific high school diploma with honors. ➟ Although he was born in France, he chose to represent the Moroccan national team. ➟ He made that decision because of his parents, who are Moroccan. ➟ His greatest idol is Luka Modrić. ➟ He made his World Cup debut in 2026 against Brazil at just 18 years old. ➟ He dominated Brazil's entire midfield. ➟ He is still pursuing a university degree in mathematics. DREAMS DO COME TRUE, AYYOUB BOUADDI. 🇲🇦⭐📚⚽

Ahead of Portugal's debut at the World Cup, Vitinha revealed during a press conference that every player on the Portuguese national team will wear a special bracelet bearing both his name and Diogo Jota's. It was a gift from Portugal's Prime Minister so that their teammate would always be with them in spirit. They won't just be playing and trying to win the World Cup for Cristiano Ronaldo. They'll also do it for their friend Diogo Jota, who passed away one year ago, shortly after winning the Nations League. It will be the greatest tribute they can give him: carrying his name throughout their entire World Cup journey while chasing the dream of becoming world champions. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE GESTURE!. 🇵🇹❤️🕊️

No, this isn’t the World Cup final—it's the entrance of Haiti's fans as their nation returned to the World Cup after 52 years away. More than 60,000 supporters showed up to witness their country's return. For some nations, being in a World Cup is a regular occurrence, but for countries like Haiti, it may be something you only get to experience once in a lifetime. Although they lost to Scotland in their World Cup comeback, they left everything on the field. They never stopped cheering, they competed until the very last minute, and they earned everyone's respect. Because if you have to fall, fall like Haiti. YOU HAVE OUR RESPECT, HAITI. 🇭🇹👏

During the official photoshoot of the Argentina national team for the World Cup, Lionel Messi appeared wearing the official Argentina jersey, showing the badge of the reigning world champions, the three stars on the crest, and striking a pose with the number 1, signaling that he is the greatest of all time. When Messi made his debut with Argentina, the national team had gone 28 years without winning the Copa América. With Messi, they won it twice. They had gone 36 years without winning the World Cup. With Messi, they won it. They had only 2 World Cups, and with Messi they can now dream of winning a second one in his era. And that’s not even mentioning that he became the all-time top scorer, the all-time top assist provider, and broke nearly every possible record. THE MAN WHO CHANGED THE HISTORY OF FOOTBALL.

Cristiano Ronaldo has just arrived in the United States to compete in what will be his last World Cup. The 41-year-old Portuguese star is already on American soil to play his sixth World Cup in his career. The all-time leading goal scorer is ready for his “last dance.” His smile says it all. What began in 2006 as a promising young talent is now, in 2026, a living legend. He will chase the long-awaited World Cup—the one that has so often eluded him. As Cristiano Ronaldo said before flying to the United States: trust them, because this Portugal team will achieve very important things. We won’t deny it—the feeling is that football might finally give him what it has owed Cristiano Ronaldo for so long. WE ALL WANT TO SEE CRISTIANO RONALDO BECOME WORLD CHAMPION.

Neymar will miss Brazil’s World Cup debut against Morocco this Saturday. Carlo Ancelotti has just confirmed that Neymar has not recovered from his injury and will not be available for Brazil’s opening match. He is also doubtful for the second game against Haiti. Let’s remember that Neymar has not played since May 17 and is not match-fit due to his injury. Now we can only wait for his return to the pitch, but what once looked like a dream is turning into a nightmare. Let’s hope to see him back soon, because football needs him. We all want to see Neymar at his best level for the World Cup. HOW PAINFUL IT IS TO SEE NEYMAR LIKE THIS.
