I've been putting off fully switching to KiCad for too long, but late is better than never. In other news, I won't feel at all obligated to learn this one 3D CAD tool I used to have access to.

Hi Benjamin,
Important changes are coming to EAGLE, included with your current Fusion 360 subscription, that you need to know about. As a note, EAGLE files are fully compatible with Fusion 360 electronics.
Effective June 7, 2026, Autodesk will no longer sell, nor support EAGLE. As long as you continue to subscribe to Fusion 360, you will have access to EAGLE until the mentioned date.
After June 7, 2024, Fusion 360 with EAGLE Standard subscriptions will no longer be available for renewal. EAGLE will be accessible through a new Fusion 360 commercial subscription through June 7, 2026. Or you can access Fusion 360 electronics with a startup or personal offering.
After June 7, 2026, the path forward is Fusion 360 electronics.
For more information about these changes along with migration guides, refer to the following blog post and frequently asked questions page.
In a closing session of #Teardown2024, @im889 walks through the recent experience of switching to @kicad_pcb (for good.)
Welcome to the right side Ben!

We all had the same problems: Wires getting yanked off between synchronized skydiving team costumes, or low framerates across 18 LED-encrusted garden gnomes...
Pixelblaze now lets you run patterns (including audio-reactive ones) across many controllers! #GnomeMoreProblems 🙄😑
Gah! @JLCPCB support is giving me the run-around for weeks. Got a bad batch of panels that usually have no issue (reorder). These are missing so much soldermask they have yield problems. Random, and really bad in some spots. Will they fix it?
Halware: an abstraction layer that promises to remove the requirement of becoming intimately familiar with the low level documentation but actually does the opposite.
The tree has almost 600 LEDs on fairy wire and is run by #pixelblaze with an output expander using 3 channels. I made a stripe pattern so I could tell if each loop was more or less lined up. I had a helper work the mapper code to speed things up.
It's already Cyber Mega Buy Shit Week, and we're doing a few promos thru Nov 30 to entice you. Website: free US shipping on $75 orders w code SHIP75, free resistor Bender jig with each order. We've also got an SMT board bundle with some… mstdn.social/@alpenglow/1093…

Happy #FibonacciDay to those who celebrate! 🐚✨
We love finding the #Fibonacci sequence in nature and in #maker projects — like @jasoncoon_'s @evilgeniuslab #electronic#art! 🤩
Where else have you seen cool examples of Fibonacci in action? 👩🔬🔎🍥
Putting together this supercon badge hack with Zach was awesome fun. With no real prep, we used what components we had on us. I still can’t believe we got it working just 3 minutes before the badge hacking ceremony began!
